And it has begun. While a storm cut our time at the Carolina-McNeese State game short, we still had a great time in Chapel Thrill on Saturday. First and foremost, Mark and I win the prize for being the first “tailgaters” of the season at Linda’s. That’s right, we were there waiting for them to open once again.
John and Rob are back behind the bar for another season. Yay! John and I actually were in school at the same time, and while he is a lender for an unnamed financial institution now he still works football game days. The rest of the crew was there as well. We’ve been spending our pre-game moments with this crew for about 10 years, and it is always good to see them every year when football rolls back around.
We then met up with Amy and Patrick to hang out on Stadium Drive in anticipation of the wonder that is Carolina Football (sometimes it is more wondrous than others, I will admit). Leah and Thomas also wandered down and we saw them for a few minutes.
Then, going into the game, we ran into our buddy Bill. He was in the midst of his bachelor party, and shoved lower level 50-yard line tickets at us and insisted we take them. Um, ok. New seatmates for the year will have the pleasure of meeting us in a few weeks.
Once the storm came, we left. It was a good thing – Carolina (in keeping with the rest of the ACC) struggled to put away McNeese State. At least we won.
