Blasted Sweet Gum Trees

Yep. That’s our front porch. Notice the ever so lovely cardboard and duct tape window. We are officially those people. I hope the president of the neighborhood association doesn’t come by anytime soon. We’re now officially in a “stable” neighborhood after being a “transitioning” neighborhood. Cardboard windows do not help.

How did this happen, you ask? Somehow, a huge limb from one of our sweet gums managed to vault over the holly bush, over the railing and manage to jut right into the bottom pane – all while missing the roof overhang.

Anyone know a good window repair person? I researched how to repair one, and all they said was if you have one pane, this is an easy fix. Well, guess what. Ours is double.

Why couldn’t it have taken out the storm door is a great mystery to me. At least we can easily change one of those.
